Batam Island

Hey.. I am coming to Batam island.
This is like a dream for me because it been long time I dreamed to visit Batam. For me, Batam is very unique. Batam is the first island that proclaimed as the authority island. It means Batam has special treatment in economic. Goods are selling at Batam is cheaper than goods are selling in another area in Indonesia.

Beside that facts, Batam island is very close to Singapore, a very rich country.  Hundreds tourists from Singapore in the weekend come to Batam to enjoy Batam as the cheap island to shop and enjoy seafood. From the Batamese, I had information that branded bags, electronics and other things are cheaper than those are in Singapore, especially seafood. Moreover, the currency rate of  Rupiah to Singapore Dollar is very weak. For Singaporeans, it is an advantages for them. They can buy things in Batam more than before.  Batam is a heaven for Singaporeans.

Back to me. Today is first day in Batam. I look at the sea and the Batam area.  My first impress is Batam is a rich island. Road, shops and buildings are in the well prepared. I did not meet a beggar or poor people in the street.  The climate is quite comfortable for Asians. And for Caucasians, East Asians, Indians, Arabians also I think.

Food also very special. I had luncheon at Rizky Restaurant at Batu Besar area, not far from Hang Nadim Airport. Crab, shrimps and fish are cooked in very delicious dish with chili sauce and steamed. Hmm..hmm..very very delicious.

I hope in the next three days I will meet very special moments in Batam.
