One Day Journey - Jakarta - Garut - Jakarta

At Sunday on May 22, 2011 I went to Cibodas Village in Cikajang, located 25 KM from Garut city, West Java Province.

Departed on early morning at 05.00 AM, my driver drove the car in high speed to reach the destination immediately. My wife, My Aunty and Me tried to enjoy the journey eventhough we were not in good mood.

The journey was unplanned at all. It was because my wife received a call from his young brother which tell her about his family problem. I am sorry, I can not say what the problem is. However I am sure you already know what sort of problem that could insist us to go to someplace without plan. Yes, it was a serious problem.

Any way, I do not want to talk about the my brother's problem. I want talk about the journey itself. It was amazing that we could do one day journey from Jakarta - Garut - Jakarta. Normally, people will take a rest for a night in Garut before going back to Jakarta. They will enjoy the Garut city atmosphere and try to find souvenir and traditional snack as gift.

It was not a normal journey. We could not enjoy the beautiful scenery along the journey. All of us think about the problem and how to solve that problem without triggering another problem. The only one that we could enjoy well was the time when we had a breakfast at Cibiuk Restaurant.

Sambel Cibiuk Restaurant

Before arriving at our destination, we stopped by at Cibiuk Restaurant to had breakfast. The restaurant is very famous among Garut people as the best place to enjoy special sauce (sambal) called sambal cibiuk.

The kind of sambal has two types: red sambal and green Sambal. Red sambal ingridient are red chilli, tomato mixed with traditional condiment called terasi. It is not too hot but suit with white rice and fresh vegetables. meanwhile the green one's ingridient are chilli, green tomato, basil leaf and kencur. The taste is very unique and fresh.

The environment of the place is also great. they have saung with ponds and rice field as place to enjoy the menu. Fresh air and the sound of water combine with the delicious food. It is a recomended restaurant for anyone who loves the delicious food and good situation.

unfortunately, we could not enjoy the whole journey. but, it is still better to have little quality time rather than not have time at all.
