Dragon Fruit Vs Local Fruit

I do not know why it fruits named Dragon Fruit. The reason maybe because of the appearance of the fruit that look like a dragon on the chines' myths.  The fruit has wings those look like dragon's thorn or fires that out from the dragon's mouth.

Dragon fruit
When firstly I knew about the fruit, I really did not interested in to eat. Even though the skin color very pretty with pink and green accent in it, the fruit still look a strange fruit. The pulp of the fruit also very unique with white pulp and dots on it. Remind me to lice eggs,.. hii..i..ii.. But, when I ate the fruit, the taste was very good. Sweet and sour combination gives me a sensation. Really, the first impression is very good.

Furthermore, when firstly the fruit introduced to the market, the price was not affordable  for ordinary people. And you know, sometimes the seller over review of the new goods. They told to the market that the fruits have various vitamins that support human immunity.  The purpose is to make people curious about it and the ultimate goal is to increase consumers' demand.

Back to the main topic, now, the price of the fruits just like other fruits price. I assume because the fruit has been successfully cultivated by the farmers. Another reason maybe because of the decreasing of consumers' demand. Consumers try to find another fruits and still loyal to local fruits. Mangoes, mangosteen, papaya and other Indonesian local fruits still have their market. The affordable price, good taste and stock abundance are the reason why Indonesian people finally back to local fruit.
